What is the Operations Management Apprenticeship?
The Operations Management/General Manager Apprenticeship is designed to prepare future managers to plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of public or private sector organizations. The program is intended to address a diversified pool of small businesses and therefore, is general in nature and cannot be classified in any one functional area of management or administration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrative services. The learning outcomes are broad and may be applied within any industry, such as retail, professional services, entertainment, sales, and office administration. The learning outcomes take entry-level candidates to management within one year.
Apprenticeships Program Overview
This 2000-hour registered apprenticeship program includes related technical instruction (RTI) in business, management, marketing, and supervision. Classes are delivered at multiple campuses during the day, evening, and weekend to accommodate on-the-job training (OJT) hours. OJT is delivered at the employer facility and includes safety and emergency procedures, customer service, human resources, facilities, and manager-on-duty operations. Upon completion, apprentices will earn a College Credit Certificate in Business Specialist - Business Management, issued by Miami Dade College, and a Florida Department of Education Apprenticeship Certificate of Completion, recognized by the United States Department of Labor.
