Course Description:
Whether you are new to the criminal justice profession or a veteran, this may be the most important course you take in your career. This 40-hour course is designed to understand the uniquely stressful situations and environments, which are inherent to a law enforcement professional’s life and career. This course will explore and enhance our general awareness of the causes and types of stresses and emphasize the development and application of stress management techniques and tools to manage stress both in and out of the job arena. During this course, officers will develop their own unique personal stress management plan and will include methods of identifying concepts related to both emotional and physiological stressors and tools that can be developed and utilized to cope with and prevent stress related illnesses and issues.
