Money-Back Guarantee

What is Money-Back Guarantee?

Money-Back Guarantee is a tuition refund program that helps students who complete any of the eligible workforce education programs and are not employed within six months after graduation. To be eligible for a tuition refund, students must meet all program requirements.

ELIGIBLE PROGRAMS

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for reimbursement under the Miami Dade College Money-Back Guarantee Program, students must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Successfully complete an approved MDC Money-Back Guarantee eligible program.
  • Meet all attendance requirements established by the program of study.
  • Successfully satisfy all program performance requirements, including earning the credential, degree, certificate, license, and/or industry certification associated with the approved program, where applicable.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Be in good financial standing with Miami Dade College at the time of reimbursement application.
  • Develop and maintain a documented career plan in collaboration with Career Services and/or MDC WORKS.
  • Complete a minimum of two (2) approved career readiness activities, such as career development workshops, career fairs, employer engagement events, mock interviews, resume reviews, or other College-approved workforce readiness activities.
  • Participate in at least one (1) approved work-based learning, experiential learning, or employer engagement activity, such as an internship, apprenticeship, clinical experience, job shadowing opportunity, mentorship program, employer-sponsored project, or on-the-job training experience.
  • Obtain all licenses, certifications, industry credentials, and other employment-related requirements necessary for entry-level employment in the occupation for which the student was trained.
  • Actively seek employment related to the occupation for which the student was trained and maintain documentation of job-search activities for up to six (6) months following program completion. Acceptable documentation may include, but is not limited to:
    • Job applications;
    • Interview invitations and confirmations;
    • Employer correspondence;
    • Career fair or recruitment event participation;
    • Career Services or MDC WORKS appointments;
    • Networking activities;
    • Employment agency or CareerSource engagement; and
    • Other employment search activities approved by the College.
  • Remain unemployed in the occupation for which the student was trained despite documented good-faith efforts to obtain employment during the six (6) months following program completion.
  • Not decline a reasonable offer of employment related to the occupation for which the student was trained.
  • Submit all required reimbursement documentation and supporting materials within the timeframe established by MDC.
  • Student graduates are not eligible to apply for this program on the first day of the month, 13 months after graduation.
  • After completion of the eligible workforce program, the student cannot be enrolled in an upper-level stackable program.

Failure to satisfy any of the above eligibility requirements may result in denial of reimbursement under the Money-Back Guarantee Program.

To be deemed eligible, the student must complete all the student eligibility criteria no later than the first day of the month, 13 months after their official graduation.
